<b>Location.</b> The Concorde El Salam Hotel is located in Cairo, Egypt, 15 kilometres from the Egyptian Museum and 30 kilometres from the Sphinx and the Pyramids.
<b>Hotel Features.</b> Built in the style of a Georgian manor, with white stucco exterior and classical columns, this hotel is situated in the upmarket suburb of Heliopolis. A palm-lined driveway leads to the marble lobby, hung with chandeliers. The Concorde El Salam has an outdoor swimming pool, and a separate children's pool. The Zing Health Club and Spa offers a fitness room, sauna, hot tub, Turkish bath, and massage treatments. Internet access and complimentary newspapers are available, and room service is offered 24 hours a day.
The Concorde El Salam Hotel offers eight restaurants serving local, international, Asian, Italian, and Lebanese dishes. The hotel's main restaurant, The Silk Road, is open around the clock. Abou Aouf Cafe serves traditional Egyptian and Lebanese dishes and a belly dancer and band perform regularly. La Veranda and the Petit are open during the summer months only.
Nine meeting rooms are available at the hotel, the largest holding up to 450 persons.
There is a casino, and three theatres showing international films. Horse riding and lessons are available at El Salam Equestrian Club. Guests can play squash in the glass-walled court or tennis on the floodlit court.

<b>Getting there.</b> The hotel offers complimentary transfers to and from the airport. Taxis for central Cairo can be found in front of the Arrivals hall. The fare should be negotiated prior to departure, and should cost approximately 70-80 EGP. Buses also run between the airport and central Cairo, and airport bus services run from Terminal 1 (Old Airport). The number 400 bus leaves approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day, and hourly at night. Price is subject to change.

<b>Getting around.</b> The cheap and reliable metro system is the best way to explore Cairo. Minibuses and buses are a common form of transport, but taxis are a good alternative. A river bus travels down the Nile from Cairo, leaving regularly from near the University. Every second boat that departs continues on to Rhoda, Manial, Masr al Qadima (old Cairo), and Giza. Driving is not advised for visitors, due to the extreme congestion in the city.
