<b>Location.</b> The 19th-century palazzo Savoy Hotel is located in Rome, Italy, within 30 metres of fashionable Via Veneto. The hotel is 500 metres from the Spanish Steps and the Via Condotti's designer shops. The nearest metro is Spagna.
<b>Hotel Features.</b> Built in 1886 as a private palazzo, the Savoy Hotel building was converted into a hotel in 1920. It is a white building with a grand entrance framed by two tall columns. The lobby retains its 1920's style with a high ceiling, marble floor, floral rugs and wall hangings, ornate mirrors and Murano- glass chandeliers.
The hotel offers guests a complimentary American buffet breakfast. Sistina is a fine-dining restaurant with a black-and-white tiled floor, black leather club chairs, chandeliers, grey marble columns and fresh flowers. Open for candlelit dinners, it serves Mediterranean dishes and has a late- night bar service. The lounge also has an evening bar service. <b>Getting around.</b> The Savoy Hotel is on Via Ludovisi, 500 metres from the Spanish Steps. Rome's historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. Spagna is the closest metro station to the hotel. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors. Parking is available nearby (surcharge).
